Betty J. Rumsey

Betty Jane Rumsey, 73, of Cashton, Wisconsin died on Monday, October 16, 2017 at the Bethel Home & Services in Viroqua. She was born on February 2, 1944 in La Crosse, WI to Clarence and Doris (Schneider) Roraff, the fourth child born among four. Betty had a great love for horses, hunting and the great outdoors. She was an avid card player, winning most hands at euchre & 500 rummy. Her cooking was unimaginable and you never left the house hungry. She would help any way possible and give the shirt off her back, if that meant helping someone else in need. She will be missed beyond words, thoughts and feelings. The family deeply appreciates the care given by the staff at Bethel Home, and warmest of wishes of all friends and extended family.

She is survived by three sons Frank (Gerry) Dikeman, Joe Dikeman and Larry (Angela) Rumsey; four grandchildren Kim Beierle, Frank Elwill, Steph Manske and Abe Rumsey; three great grandchildren; two sisters Ida Duprey and Carol Mottausch along with her very best friend Rita Schlegel of La Crescent. She was preceded in death by a brother Joe Roraff.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, October 20, 2017 at the Schumacher – Kish Funeral & Cremation Services, 200 West Ave. S., La Crosse. Rev. Lawrence B. Berger will officiate. Burial will follow in the French Island Cemetery, La Crosse. of Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 5-7 PM and again on Friday from 10 AM until the time service.
