Betty Ann Clark, 81, of La Crosse passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, March 26, 2018. Betty was born on July 20, 1936 in the Town of Bloom to Virgil and Gladys (Liska) Henthorne. She graduated from Hillsboro High School in 1954 and Vernon County Teachers College in 1956. On July 26, 1958 she married Ivan Clark, her best friend and the love of her life. They made a good life together, which began in Valley, WI where Betty taught grades 1-4 for five years at the Valley State Graded School. She was always appreciative of the Valley Community, who allowed a young girl into the lives of their children.
Betty and Ivan later moved to La Crosse, WI where they raised their family and built many wonderful friendships. Betty was employed by the School District of La Crosse for over 31 years, and believed she learned as much from the kids as they did from her.
Betty very much enjoyed her time spent with Ivan and the many activities they did together. Over the years they danced, camped, snowmobiled, attended auction sales, farmed and gardened. She was so proud of her family and truly enjoyed spending time with them, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, Ivan Clark; children Alan Clark of Hillsboro and Lisa (Paul) Deml of La Crosse; grandchildren Joshua (Hillary) Deml of La Crosse and Cody (Brittany) Deml of La Crosse; great-grandchildren Sadie, Taylor and William Deml. She is also survived by her caring brother William Henthorne of Sparta, WI, as well as many brother and sister in-laws, nephews, nieces, and other relatives. Betty was preceded in death by her parents, and sister in-laws Linda Henthorne and Elaine Tydrick; brother in-laws Richard and Herman Clark.
