Bernie Thiele

Bernard M. “Bernie” Thiele, 88, of rural La Crosse, passed away on Monday, June 5, 2017, at the Mulder Health Care Facility in West Salem.

Bernie was born in rural La Crosse on May 17, 1929, to Bernard and Emmele (Thomas) Thiele, Sr. He farmed his entire life on the family farm in the Town of Greenfield until his retirement. On August 12, 1995, Bernie married Ethlyn “Ettie” (Mlsna) Kammel at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in La Crosse.

He is survived by his wife, Ettie, and Ettie’s children, Linda (Allen) Walker, Terry (Susan) Kammel, Paul (Barbara) Kammel, Duane (Sandy) Kammel, and their families. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Helen Roesler.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, June 9 ^th , at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 1333 So. 13 ^th St., La Crosse. Rev. Rick Roberts will officiate. Burial will take place in the Catholic Cemetery, La Crosse. Family and friends may call from 9:30 a.m. until the time of Mass on Friday at the church.
