Barbara A. Dolato

We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Barbara (Fredrickson) Dolato. Born on June 3, 1946, Barbara spent 77 joyful years with us before her departure on February 19, 2024.

Barb’s life was rich and full, characterized by her kind-hearted, strong-willed, patient, and loving nature. She had a special understanding of the world and its people, always ready to offer wisdom and encouragement even in the toughest of times. Her soul was gentle, her heart wise, and her spirit sweet; characteristics that will continue to live through our memories of her.

A woman of simple pleasures, Barb loved a good Friday night fish fry or a comforting hamburger and fries with a Mt. Dew. Her leisure time was often spent trying her luck with gambling machines or tending to her yard. It was her love of spending time with her grandchildren that brought her the most joy.

Barb is survived by her children, Todd (Lisa) Dolato, Steven (Karla) Dolato; granddaughters, Delilah Woods and Madison Dolato; her grandson, Trenton Dolato; her great grandchildren, Cecilia and Scarlett; and her siblings, Helen Ward and Russell (Connie) Fredrickson; as well as nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. Barb was predeceased by her parents, Raymond and Alta Fredrickson; and 12 siblings.

As we mourn Barb’s loss, we also celebrate the incredible life she lived and the beautiful memories she left behind. Her legacy of love, strength, and wisdom will continue to inspire us. Each time we raise a glass of Mt. Dew, visit a casino, or enjoy a fish fry and hamburgers, we will remember her with joy and gratitude. Barb’s journey on earth may have ended, but her spirit lives on in the hearts of those she touched.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, February 26, 2024 at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, 612 Division St., La Crosse, WI 54601. Pastor Joanne Richmond will officiate. Visitation will be held from 3:00 pm until 5:00 pm on Sunday, February 25, 2024 at Schumacher-Kish Funeral and Cremation Services – La Crosse Chapel and one hour prior to services at the church on Monday.
