Audrey Marie Wittenberg

Audrey M. Wittenberg, 74, of La Crosse, passed away at her home on Tuesday, June 9, 2020.

She was born July 7, 1945, in Durand, Wis., to Donald and Gladys (Bilderback) Ryan.  She grew up in La Crescent and graduated from La Crosse Logan High School.  Audrey married Jim Wittenberg and they later divorced.

Audrey worked at the La Crosse Rubber Mills (La Crosse Footwear) for many years before retiring.  She was a long-time active member of Eagles Aerie 1254 in La Crosse and remained very close to her “Eagles family” over the years.

Audrey is survived by her siblings, Michael (Marsha) Ryan of La Crescent, Marilyn (Larry) Solecki of Cape Coral, Fla., Michelle (Rick) Beeson of Appleton, Wis., Dan (Sue) Ryan of Rochester, Minn., and Dave Ryan of Winona; nieces, Kim Ryan, Holly (Rex) Delgado, Melody Solecki, Katie Beeson, Kelly (Rasean) Sutton and Anna (Chris) Reed; nephews, Brent (Jana) Solecki, Turner Ryan, Andrew Beeson and Eric Beeson; and many great nieces and nephews, cousins and other extended family members.

Audrey was preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Gladys; a niece, Wendy Thicke and her husband, Dan Thicke; and nephews, Steve Solecki and Donnie Solecki.

A celebration of Audrey’s life will be held at the Eagles/VFW Clubroom in La Crosse with a tentative date of July 7 ^th .  Memorials may be directed to the La Crosse Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 1254.
