Arthur J. Miller

Arthur J. Miller, 94 of Hokah, Minn., died on Saturday, August 12, 2017 at La Crescent Health Services. He was born on August 15, 1922 to Joseph and Bernice (Cox) Miller. He married Lorraine M. Bernd on August 29, 1950 and she preceded him in death on November 21, 2014.

Arthur was a hardworking man who together with his wife worked the land of their rural Hokah farm his entire life. He enjoyed spending time with family, friends and neighbors. He also enjoyed the company of his two farm dogs “Buddy” and “Barney”.

He is survived by his four children; Linda Stemper of Hokah, Ellen (Fred) Pilger of Winona, Minn., Gordon Miller of Winona, Adrian “Sam” Miller of Hokah, six grandchildren; Missy (Shawn) Andring, Jessy (Jeff) Berkley, Andy Miller, Amy (Josh) Walters, Emily (Jeremy) Johnson and Grace Stemper; seven great grandchildren; Jena and Jade Johnson, Madeline and Spencer Andring, Valarie and Megan Berkley, Oliver Miller and Isaac Stemper. He is further survived by one brother Mike (Theresa) Miller of La Crescent.   In addition to his wife Lorraine, he was preceded in death by one son Larry, one sister Dorothy and two brothers Joey and Benny.

A Mass Of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am on Friday, August 18, 2017 at St. Peter’s Catholic Church of Hokah. Rev. Pratap Reddy Salibindla will officiate. Burial will follow in Mount Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call on the family Thursday evening from 4 until 7 pm at the Schumacher-Kish Funeral and Cremation Services La Crescent chapel; 111 South Oak St. Visitation will also be held on Friday morning at the church from 9:30 am until the time of Mass. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
