Arlene Mae Wiese

Arlene Mae Wiese was born to eternal life on October 31, 2024. Arlene was born April 14, 1930 to Palmer and Mabel (Anderson) Midtlien at Black River Falls WI. She became a child of God through baptism on May 11, 1930 and pledged lifelong faithfulness to God at her confirmation.

Arlene graduated from Central High School La Crosse in 1947. She was united in marriage to Reuben Henry Wiese on October 18, 1947 at Mt Calvary Lutheran Church.

Over the years Arlene worked many jobs, selling a variety of things including Fuller Brush products and Electrolux vacuum cleaners, and servicing/filling vending machines. She made many friends while she was custodian at the UW-La Crosse library and church secretary at St. Johns. 

Arlene had a passion for sewing and was an avid quilter. She and Reuben also raised a large garden and canned delicious food for the family.

Arlene is survived by sons James of Aurora MO; Bruce of Horicon WI; daughter Deborah (John) Dais of Mayville; sons Greg (Barbara) of Yuba City CA; Dr Thomas (Tricha) of Ottawa KS; and Michael (Luz) of Wichita Falls TX. She is further survived by 6 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. 

She is preceded in death by husband Reuben and son Timothy; along with her parents and stepfather; two sisters Mildred Midtlien and Marlys Buczek; daughter-in-law Lois.

We say goodbye to Arlene for now but look forward to being reunited with her and all believers in the joy of heaven through Jesus blood and merit. All glory be to God!

A memorial service will be held on Monday, November 25, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Mt. Calvary Ev. Lutheran Church. Pastor Robert Wassermann will officiate. Burial will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery. Friends may call at the church on Monday from 10:00 AM until the time of services. Memorials may be given to Mt. Calvary Ev. Lutheran Church.
