Ardelle H. Schaffer

April 29, 1921 — September 1, 2020

Life is a journey, make it happy, make it kind, make it special, make it legendary….

Ardelle Schaffer was legendary.

From April 29, 1921 to August 29, 2020 Ardelle lived a full life during all of her 99 years and packed more spunk than you can imagine into her 5’ frame. She was the only daughter born to Ed and Helen (Vogel) Senn. She worked at Dolly Madison Dairy in La Crosse, WI for 30 years as an ice cream maker. She was also an early employee of Kwik Trip making sandwiches with other Hokah ladies. She was very proud of living in the same house for 99 years, saying “I was born here and hope to die here.”

Ardelle was known as “sis” to her six brothers, Arnie (her twin), Ralph (Skinny), William, Charlie, Larry and Jack. She loved to golf, bowl (highest known score 269!), fish and have an occasional beer or Seven & Seven with her beloved husband, Harry. Her homemade bread and cookies will be missed, not only by her daughter, Maggie, grandchildren, great grandchildren and great- great grandchildren, but by eighteen nieces and nephews and many neighbors and friends. Her laugh warmed a room. Her hugs will be missed!!!!! Her family is very grateful to all of those that have helped out during the recent weeks.

Ardelle is survived by her daughter Margaret Ann Heintz, grandchildren Teri (Chris) Edwards, Tim (Ann) Heintz and Tony (Joan) Heintz, great grandchildren Justin Duvall, Luke (Jessica) Duvall, Cody Duvall, Jordan (Josh) Salman, Shelby (Travis) Hersleff, Dalton Heintz, Logan Heintz, Shane Moe and Travis (Colleen) Moe, eight great- great grandchildren, two brothers William (Gale) Senn and Jack Senn. She was preceded in death by her husband Harry Schaffer in 1994, infant son Harry, Jr. in 1961, brothers and sisters-in-law Arnie, Ralph (Betty), Charlie (Dorothy), Larry (Lorraine) and Nanae Senn, son-in-law Jerry Heintz, three nieces, one nephew, grand-daughter-in-law Sherry Heintz and great grandson Dustin Moe.
