Ann M. (Elder) Grokowsky, age 77, of Onalaska, passed away on Monday, September 13, 2021, at home. Ann was born on April 25, 1944, in La Crosse, Wisconsin, to Jeanette (Larson) Elder. She attended school in Holmen, graduating with the Class of 1962. On September 12, 1964, she married the love of her life, Jerome Grokowsky, at Holmen Lutheran Church. She worked at Doerflinger's until leaving to become a full-time mother to their sons, Jay and Karl. The greatest joys of her life were making a home for her family, dancing with Jerome at the Silver Spur on Saturday nights, visiting family in California, and watching her grandchildren grow up. Later on in life, she enjoyed watching Packers games and NASCAR races.
Ann is survived by her sons, Jay (Shelly) Grokowsky of Altoona and Karl (Teri) Grokowsky of Presque Isle, and six grandchildren, Jennifer (Colin Han) and Kyle of Milwaukee, Daniel of Cottage Grove, David (Joyce) of La Crosse, Allison (Tarl) Kaio of Holmen, and Rachel of Onalaska. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Shirley Grokowsky of Altoona, brother-in-law, Dennis (Jeanenne) Grokowsky of Holmen, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerome, and her mother, Jeanette.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, September 18, 2021, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 1201 Main Street, Onalaska. Pastor Shane Krause will officiate. Burial will be in Green Mound Cemetery, Holmen. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of service Saturday at the church.
