Alvina C. Sichler

Alvina C. Sichler (Hill), age 89, of Dakota, passed away on Saturday, February 11, 2023, at Benedictine Living Community in La Crosse. She was born to Lester and Edna (Steinfeldt) Hill in Pickwick, MN on January 27, 1934. She married Charles Sichler and together they raised three children, Deb, Tim, and Lori.

Alvina was a member of Riverside United Methodist Church since she was seven years old. Riverside UMC helped her develop a strong faith that she used to be a role model for her family. Alvina’s family was very important to her and she enjoyed spending time with her husband, children, grandchildren, and their families. She loved reading her Bible, doing word puzzles, cooking, and gardening. She also enjoyed going on long walks and drives, bird watching, and spending time with her pets.

Alvina is survived by her husband, Charles “Chuck” Sichler of Dakota, MN; children, Deb (David) Arentz of Rockland, WI, Tim (Tammy) Sichler of Dakota, MN, and Lori Kohlwey of La Crosse, WI; grandchildren, Steve (Thalia) La Force of Viroqua, WI, Chris (Melinda) La Force of Sparta, WI, Xavier Kohlwey of Laurens, SC, Michaela (Noah) Gansen of Onalaska, WI, Malachi Kohlwey (Nicole Hansen) of Davenport, IA, Nick Kohlwey of Milwaukee, WI, and Bridget (Cole) Flannery of Hokah, MN; 10 great grandchildren; 1 great great granddaughter; and her lifelong best friend, Inez Ziemer.

Alvina was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Betty Bright; and brothers, Edwin, Irvin, and Arlen Hill.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, February 17, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at Riverside United Methodist Church, 660 Main St, Dakota, MN 55925. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Pastor Dianne Ciesluk will officiate. Burial will be held in Dakota Cemetery at a later date.
