Allan Loose

Allan W. Loose, 87, of La Crosse, passed away peacefully at his home and went home to the Lord on Friday, September 1, 2017.

He was born on April 16, 1930, to Alfred and Clara (Klabunde) Loose in Morgan, Minn. Allan and Joan Loose (Valentine) were married for 49 years until she preceded him in death on December 15, 2011, and he missed her greatly.

As a youth, Allan participated in scouting, becoming an Eagle Scout, and later, he proudly served as a member of the National Guard. He was an avid race fan, following NASCAR and the short track circuit in West Salem. Race legend, Dick Trickle, considered Allan a friend. Allan was also a valued member of the La Crosse Skyrockers and was honored as Skyrocker of the Year in 1997. At one time during his career at Interstate Dealers Supply, Allan had risen to the position of Vice President and remained with the company until his retirement.

Allan’s other hobbies included curling and playing horseshoes with his friends. He especially loved his time with the many dogs that he and his wife, Joan, have cared for and loved throughout the years; the latest being his beloved beagle, Trixie.

Allan is survived by his daughters, Julie Clark and Denise (Allan) Reckers; granddaughter, Courtney (Anthony) Marsh; and two great granddaughters, Raven and Skye. In addition to his wife, Joan, he was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Ruby Schultz; and aunts, Edna and Bernice Loose.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, September 7 ^th , at Mount Calvary Ev. Lutheran Church, 1411 So. 16 ^th Street, La Crosse. Pastor Robert Wassermann will officiate. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery. Friends may call from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, at Schumacher-Kish Funeral and Cremation Services, 200 West Ave. So., La Crosse, and from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service on Thursday at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the La Crosse Skyrockers or Mount Calvary Ev. Lutheran Church for homebound ministry.
