Alexander "Alex" J. Duresky

Alexander “Alex” J. Duresky, 30, of La Crosse, WI passed away on Tuesday, April 2, 2024. He was born to Jay and Carmen Duresky on December 15, 1993, in Fayetteville, NC. Alex graduated from Central High School in La Crosse in 2012. Growing up, Alex found joy in sports and participated in many different ones from a young age through high school and into adulthood. During his younger years, it was football, basketball, wrestling, and track and field, but most recently, he found joy in spending time outdoors playing disc golf. He also spent many years training in karate determined to earn a black belt, which he was able to accomplish.

Drums were Alex’s passion. He won various awards throughout middle and high school, made YouTube videos showing his drumming skills, and even played with some of the local bands a few times including his grandpa’s band. He worked at many restaurants which gave him the knowledge to become an excellent chef. Above all, Alex’s children, Hope, Aubrey, and Eli were his world. He loved them more than anything on this earth.

Alex is survived by his parents, Jay Duresky and Carmen Duresky; children, Aubrey Duresky and Eli Kolin; grandpas, Neil Duresky and Jim Peterson; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Alex was preceded in death by his daughter, Hope McGuire; and grandmas, Kris Duresky and Brenda Peterson.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, April 10, 2024, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 4141 Mormon Coulee Rd., La Crosse, WI 54601. Pastor Harald Bringsjord will officiate. Visitation will be held from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Tuesday, April 9, 2024 at Schumacher-Kish Funeral and Cremation Services of La Crosse and one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery in La Crosse.
