A. Marlene Papenfuss, 85, of Nodine and formerly a resident of the Clara House in La Crescent, died on Saturday, September 9, 2017 at the Mayo Clinic Health System in La Crosse. She was born on September 18, 1931 in New Boston, Ill., to Forest and Maye (Stipp) Mannon. Marlene had worked as an LPN for over 30 years at St. Francis Hospital.
She is survived by three children, Wendall (Marcia), Joan, Laurie (Dan) and daughter-in-law, Poopsie; eleven grandchildren, Suzy, Chris, Benji, Tom, Kate, Tess, Mark, Eddie, Ross, Cassie, and Justine; sixteen great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; and a cousin Neil Mannon of Joy, Ill. She was preceded in death by her husband Ross; a son, Fred; a daughter, Betsy; and her parents.
Family and friends are invited to a graveside service that will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, September 15, 2017, at St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Cemetery in Nodine, Minn., with Pastor Dennis Harbach officiating. A lunch will follow in the Nodine Fire Station. Memorials are preferred to St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Cemetery for lawn care.Service Schedule
