Benoit Grace Antony, 85, of La Crosse, passed away on Monday, March 20, 2017at St. Agnes Hospital in Fond du Lac, WI. She was born in La Crosse to Fredrick and Elizabeth (Ceason) Strauss on July 22, 1931.Benoit was a 1949 graduate of Central High School. She married Richard “Dick” Antony on June 24, 1950 and they were married for 51 years until his passing in 2001. She had worked for many years at The Company Store where she made lasting friendships. Benoit and her husband were longtime members of Asbury United Methodist Church and were beautiful dance partners at the Happy Twirlers Dance Club. Benoit relished spending time with her family, especially holidays and Sunday afternoons at her home surrounded by her energetic family. She enjoyed puzzles, reading, needlework and sewing projects, like quilts for the many babies in her life that are still treasured today. She adored her special furry friends, Rufus, Shelby and Jazz. She is now dancing in the arms of her husband, the love of her life.
Benoit is survived by her four children, Carlynn (Dave) Clements, Rick (Jean) Antony, Roxy (Butch) Antony, and Jay (Tisha) Antony, nine grandchildren, Sarah (Erich) Scharf, Angi (Kevin) Strangman, Rick (Kate) Antony, Lisa (Eric) Paulson, Dan (Jennifer) Arnold, Gerri (Todd) Peterson, Megan Antony, Devin Antony, and Dentin Antony, fourteen great-grandchildren, Ramsey, Emma, Sophie, Maggie, Claire, Drew, Ruthann, Lilah, Jake, Trenton, Cody, Wyatt, Noah and Alyvia; step-grandchildren, Dannielle Laylan and Derrick Johnson, step great-grandchildren, Julia, Dominic, Alex, Elliot and Jayden, brother Lyle Strauss, sisters-in-law, Delores Bockenhauer, Barb Meinke, and Annie Antony, brother-in-law Arlan (Karen) Antony, many nieces and nephews, and lifelong friends, Tom and Carol Weigel. Benoit was preceded in death by her husband, parents, daughter Vicki Kay Antony, grandson Joe Clements, sister-in-law Judith Strauss, and three brothers-in-law, Jack Antony, David Antony, and Blaine Bockenhauer.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 27, 2017 at 11:00 AM at Faith United Methodist Church, 1818 Redfield Street with Pastor Karen Bankes officiating. Burial will be in the Mormon Coulee Memorial Park. Friends may call at the Schumacher-Kish Funeral & Cremation Services of La Crosse on Sunday from 5:00 – 7:00 PM and at the church on Monday from 10:00 AM until the time of services.
