Susan (Fielder) Moss

Susan H. (Fielder) Moss, 70, of La Crosse, passed away on Thursday, March 9, 2017, at the Bethel Home in Viroqua. She was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., on July 28, 1946, to Lester and Elsie (Brodsky) Moss.

Susan’s family moved to Canada in the 1950’s, and she later worked in Cole’s Bookstore in Toronto for many years. Later, she became involved in various Lutheran ministries, eventually becoming a Deaconess in the Lutheran Church. She served as a Chaplain in hospitals and other institutions for many years.

Susan was a member of English Lutheran Church in La Crosse where she had many friends who assisted and visited her during her illness. During the past year, she entered the Catholic Church and became a member of the St. Joseph the Workman Cathedral parish.

Susan is survived by one brother, David Moss, and his wife, Kathleen, of St. Louis, MO; one sister, Mother Miriam, O.S.B., (Rosalind) of Tulsa, OK; and nephews and nieces, Daniel Moss and family, Matthew Moss and family, Brian Moss and family, and Nancy Moss. She was preceded in death by her parents.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, March 25 ^th , in the Marian Chapel of the Cathedral of St. Joseph the Workman. Msgr. Charles Stoetzel will officiate. Burial will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. until the time of Mass on Saturday at the Church.
