James "Gummy" A. Hansen

James “Gummy” A. Hansen, 83, of Onalaska died on Monday, February 6, 2017 at Hillview Health Care Center in La Crosse. James was survived in death by his wife of 50 years, Phyllis of Onalaska; children James Jr. of Onalaska, Kurt (Tami) of Sparta, and Teresa (Vincent) of Farmington, MN; son-in-law Olaf Mathison Jr. of Sparta; sixteen grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and siblings Thomas (Terri) Hansen, Bernette Albitz, John Hansen, Michael Hansen, Robert (Sandra) Hansen, and Peter (Cheryl) Hansen. James was preceded in death by his parents, Alois and Evelyn (Schubert) Hansen; first wife Donna; daughter Donna “Evie” Mathison; and siblings Dona Mae Michel, Alois Hansen, Bonnie Jean Tschumper, Mary Jane Hofslien, Elizabeth Strong, Jerry Hansen, and Patrick Hansen.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, March 25th at AmericInn in La Crosse. Family and friends are welcome to stop in any time between 10am-4pm to share memories of Jim. The United States Navy, to recognize Jim’s service to our country, will conduct Military Honors at noon. Food will be served from 12:30-2:00pm.
