Janice J. Meyer

Janice J. Meyer, 84 of La Crosse died on Thursday, March 9, 2017 surrounded by her loving family. She was born December 31, 1932 in La Crosse to Edward and Vivian (Thompson) Juan and graduated from Central High School.

On December 30, 1950, she married Robert M. Meyer at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in La Crosse. Janice had worked for La Crosse County for over 30 years and retired as Deputy County Treasurer. She loved fishing, boating and spending time on the river, traveling across the country, listening to live music, gardening, and preparing beautiful meals for her family and friends. She was especially gifted at crafts and enjoyed knitting, needlework and sewing. Her favorite time however was spent with her grandchildren. Among her many kindnesses, she lovingly cared for her parents and aunt for many years.

In addition to her husband Robert, she is survived by three children; Jeanne Meyer of La Crosse, David Meyer of La Crosse and Kathy Culver of Petaluma, CA; four grandchildren, Jennifer Nyairo, Karmen Gregory, Graham Culver and Nathan Culver; three great-grandchildren, Preston, Isaac and Zamiel; two nieces, Louise Flesvig and Karen (Flesvig) Swinehart. She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Bobby in 1973, and a sister, Shirley Flesvig.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 24 ^th at the Schumacher-Kish Funeral and Cremation Services of La Crosse with Rev. Brian D. Konopa officiating. Burial will follow in Mormon Coulee Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services.
