Beverly Peterson

Beverly J. Peterson, 89, of La Crosse, passed away on Saturday, March 11, 2017, at Brookdale Assisted Living.

Beverly was born in La Crosse on January 14, 1928, to Edgar and Emma (Hoover) Manning. She married Kenneth H. Peterson on December 5, 1947, in La Crosse. Ken preceded her in death on October 31, 2009.

Beverly was a devoted wife and mother who was a wonderful homemaker and an accomplished cook and baker – skills she developed while working at her family’s bakery as a young woman. She was a long-time member of Immanuel Ev. Lutheran Church in La Crosse where she was active in the Ladies Aid for many years.

She is survived by her children, Diane (Richard) Lockington of La Crosse, Kenneth R. (Aletta) Peterson of Holmen, John Peterson of La Crosse, and Daniel (Connie) Peterson of Chattanooga, Tenn.; eight grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, Beverly was also preceded in death by a daughter, Adele Kelly; and three sisters, Colleen, Alice, and Marilyn.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, March 18 ^th , at Immanuel Ev. Lutheran Church in La Crosse. Pastor David Leistekow will officiate. Burial will take place in Mormon Coulee Memorial Park. Family and friends may call from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service on Saturday at the church. Memorials may be directed to Immanuel Lutheran Church for the Needy Family Fund or to the Gundersen Health System Hospice Program.
