Charles Robertson

Charles Robertson died Wednesday, February 22, 2017, at his home in Onalaska. He was born June 24, 1931, to Harold and Faye (Rose) Robertson. He attended grade schools on French Island and the North Side of La Crosse and graduated from Logan High School in 1949. On October 19, 1957, he married Jean Zirbes at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in La Crosse.

He served in the United States Marine Corps, worked for the Milwaukee Road Railroad, and the La Crosse City Fire Department for 28 years, retiring in 1990.

He is survived by his five children; Dan Robertson, Diane (Lance) Kunde, Dale Robertson, Karen Mueller and the Rev. Father Douglas Robertson; his seven grandchildren; Samantha and Eli Robertson; Sarah Jean, Jordan, and Matthew Kunde; and Joshua and Stefanie Mueller; his nieces, nephews, and other relatives, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; and his brother, Warren Robertson.

There will be a funeral service on Monday, February 27, at 5:30 p.m. at the Schumacher-Kish Funeral Home in La Crosse with the Rev. Edward Shuttleworth presiding. A visitation will follow until 8:00 p.m. Burial will be at Gate of Heaven Cemetery the following day at 11:30 a.m.
