Harold Eugene Greeno, 73, of Dresbach, MN died on Thursday, February 23, 2017 at Gundersen Health System in La Crosse. He was born on April 1, 1943 in La Crosse to Harold E. and Joyous (Norby) Greeno. He graduated from Central High School in 1961. He actively served on the USS Bennington CV-20 in Vietnam. He was discharged from active duty on July 14, 1965. He then served in the Naval Reserves until August 13, 1967. Hal had worked at Allis Chalmers, Heileman’s, Torrance Foundry and Trane Company before retiring on June 1, 2009. Hal enjoyed woodworking, tractors, Willie Nelson, camping, road trips and his family.
He is survived by his wife Cheryl (Kennicott), four sons Brian (Jeanne), Daniel (Sue), Darrel, Brian (Jeri), two grandchildren Josh and Alyssa, three step grandchildren and nine step great grandchildren, two brothers Gerry (Sue) and Donald (Phyliss), a half- brother Lamont and a half-sister Dolores, along with many favorite nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and two great grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held at 11:30 AM on Friday, March 3, 2017 at the Schumacher – Kish Funeral & Cremation Services, 111 S. Oak St., La Crescent. Pastor John Stennes-Spidahl will officiate. A private family burial will be held at a later date. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 10 AM until the time of service.Friday, March 3, 2017
