Raymond “Ray” Marvin Wichelt, 83, of Stoddard, WI, died on Wednesday, February 22, 2017, at the Bethany Riverside Care Center. He was born on July 6, 1933, in Beloit, WI, to Marvin and Sylvia (Peterson) Wichelt. Ray was a 1952 graduate of Beloit Memorial High School, where he excelled in sports. He served with the US Army from 1953-1956. On August 1, 1964, he married the love of his life, Joyce Olstad, in Portland Lutheran Church, Cashton, WI. In his retirement he loved mowing at the farm and wine making. Ray’s greatest joy was his family, especially his grandchildren. Ray had a great sense of humor and a strong faith. He served as a board member for the Salvation Army and on several committees at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. He was also chairman for 10 years with the German Sister City Committee.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Joyce, three children, Aimee, Tim (Julie), and Ted (Kimberly), five grandchildren, Megan, Molly, Ahnikah, Astoria and Avan, two brothers, Ron (Lydia), and David (Leone), and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
