Audrey M. Soucheck

Audrey M. Soucheck, 87, of Stoddard, WI, died on Sunday, February 12, 2017 at the Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center. She was born on January 27, 1930 in rural Ferryville to Knute and Laila Wangen. Audrey grew up on a farm near Ferryville, and moved to Stoddard in the mid-1950s. She was married to Al Soucheck on August 8, 1953 in North Kickapoo Lutheran Church, Soldiers Grove, WI. She worked at the Trust Company in La Crosse for more than 30 years. Audrey occupied her spare time by knitting afghans which were given to many of her family and friends. Audrey is survived by three children: Ray (Amy) Soucheck of Ft. Worth, TX, Larry Soucheck of Stoddard, and Connie (Nolan) Stigen of De Soto, WI; five grandchildren: Angie (Scott) Larson, Jon (Rachel) Soucheck, Krissy (Blake) Skaja, Addie Soucheck, and Heath Soucheck; and five great-grandchildren: Alex, Tony, Andrew Larson, and Natalie and Charlie Skaja. She was preceded in death by her husband Al, her brother Orvis Wangen, and her parents, Knute and Laila Wangen. Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 17, 2017 at 11 AM at St. Matthews Ev. Lutheran Church in Stoddard. Pastor Silas Schmitzer will officiate. Burial will be in the Stoddard Cemetery. Friends may call at the Schumacher-Kish Funeral & Cremation Services of La Crosse on Thursday from 6 to 8pm and at the church on Friday from 10am until the time of services. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to St. Matthews Ev. Lutheran Church.  Audrey’s family would like to thank the staff at Gundersen Lutheran for their wonderful care.
