Sharon R. Dahl, 75, of Holmen, passed away at her home on Thursday, February 9, 2017.
Sharon was born in La Crosse, July 24, 1941, to Irving and Esther (Larsen) Krenz. She attended La Crosse schools and was a 1959 graduate of Logan High School. On July 2, 1960, she married Gerald Dahl at Trinity Lutheran Church in La Crosse.
Sharon worked as an in-home daycare provider for many years. She was talented at knitting and crafting and enjoyed putting jig-saw puzzles together. She also had a snowman collection that numbered in the 100’s. Sharon remained connected to many of her high school friends by meeting at least once a month with the “Logan Girls” for lunch or dinner or a game of dominoes.
Sharon was deeply devoted to her family. She and Jerry enjoyed traveling together and also loved to travel to their sons’ ballgames when they played for the Boy’s Club. She enjoyed spending time with her sons and especially her granddaughters, Karen and Cami, of whom she was very proud. She was also very grateful to have been given the time to see her grandson, Brayden, grow up to be 1 year old. Her grandchildren meant everything to her.
Sharon is survived by her loving husband, Jerry; her three sons, Kenneth of Plano, Texas, Daniel (Mary Ziesemer) of Appleton, Wis., and Jamie (Melissa Moldenhauer) of Onalaska; and her three grandchildren, Karen Dahl (Nathan Pica-Anderson) of Minneapolis, Camille Dahl of Eau Claire, and Brayden Dahl of Onalaska. She is further survived by two sisters, Darlene Kerrigan of La Crescent and Joyce Prisk of Ft. Atkinson, Wis.; one brother, Thomas Krenz of La Crosse; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Janet Butzler.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, February 18 th , at Trinity Lutheran Church, 1010 Sill St., La Crosse, with Rev. Erik Feig officiating. A reception will follow the service at the church. Family and friends may call from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service on Saturday at the church.
Sharon’s family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the long-term care staff at Gundersen Health System, with special thanks to her hospice team, for the wonderful care they gave her.
