Lida Maria Wolle

October 5, 1925 — January 13, 2017

Lida Maria Wolle, 91, of Holmen, passed away peacefully with her family at her side on Tuesday, January 10, 2017, at the Mayo Clinic Health System in La Crosse.

Lida was born in Paris, France on October 5, 1925, and was raised by grandparents in Verona, Italy. She met her husband, John Wolle, who was serving in Italy with the U.S. Army after World War II. They were married in Vienna, Austria on May 27, 1946. Lida left her home country to come to the United States to start a new life with her husband. Lida and John always had a large vegetable and flower garden and Lida had over 300 house plants. They loved selling their produce and plants at the Farmer's Market. Besides being an amazing housewife, mom and grandma, Lida also worked as a cook at the Holmen High School.

In 1996, Lida and her family traveled back to Italy to visit her brother, Lido, and his family. Her family also traveled to America to visit Lida! Lida is survived by her son, Rick (Melanie) Wolle of Holmen; her grandchildren, Ryan (Lynn) Wolle, Megan (Jong) Yang and Mikayla Wolle; and her great grandchildren, Claire Wolle and Lincoln Yang. Lida is also survived by a brother-in-law, Don Pieper, of La Crosse, and nieces, nephews and other extended family members both in Italy and in the United States. In addition to her husband, John, Lida was also preceded in death by her son, Johnny.

(Love you more more more!) Lida's family would like to thank the staff at Marinuka Manor in Galesville for their care and love! Lida loved you all. A special thank you to Lida's dear friend and doctor Dr. Barret Wolfson, who went out of her way to care for Lida the way a doctor should.
