Elizabeth June Jolivette, 69, of La Crosse passed peacefully into God’s loving arms on Sunday, January 8, 2017, at Mayo-Franciscan Healthcare in La Crosse. Elizabeth was born on May 9, 1947, in La Crosse, to Frank and Eleanor (Chaffee) Jolivette.
You may know her in a professional relationship as ‘Liz’ or personally as ‘June’. Liz graduated from Logan High School in 1965, and continued her education in nursing at Viterbo University and the Master’s program at Texas Women’s University, Denton, Texas.
Liz was a dedicated nursing educator, teaching at Viterbo University and Western Technical College where many of her students became longtime friends. In addition to her teaching Liz also practiced nursing, working part time at Bethany Riverside Nursing Community.
Elizabeth June is survived by her brother, George W. (Kathryn) Jolivette of Oregon, WI; niece Mary (Randy) Disch of Brooklyn, WI; three great-nieces, Adelaide Jolivette of Blaine, MN, and Tori and Alexa Disch of Brooklyn, WI; and several cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, twin brother Edward Jolivette and nephew Brad Jolivette.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, January 14, 2017 at Olivet Lutheran Church, 2100 Bainbridge St. French Island. Pastor David Baldukas will officiate. Burial will be in the Asbury Cemetery, Brice Prairie, Onalaska. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. at Schumacher-Kish Funeral Home of La Crosse, 200 West Ave. South on Friday and from 10 a.m. until the time of services at the church on Saturday. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Olivet Lutheran Church Building Fund.
The family expresses a special thank you to Pastors David Baldukas, Andrew Fortuine and Luanne Sorenson for their many prayers, visits, and support for June. To June’s Olivet Church family of friends for your many years of prayer, support and words of encouragement.
