Margaret A. Humfeld

Margaret A. Humfeld, 91 of La Crescent, Minn. passed away on Saturday, December 31, 2016 at the Gundersen Health System of La Crosse. She was born in La Crosse on April 19, 1925 to Arthur G. and Laura A. (Loomis) Rogge. She married Theo W. “Dick” Humfeld in La Crosse on April 27, 1943 and he preceded her in death in 1995.

Margaret and Dick lived and farmed in Winona County until 1982 when they moved to La Crescent. She enjoyed quilting and crocheting scarves which she donated to veterans.

She is survived by her children; Mary (John) Horihan of Hokah, Minn., Ted Humfeld of La Crescent, Shirley Curbow of Champlin, Minn., Barbara (Jerry) Schuldt of Dowagiac, MI., Susan (Matt) Martini of Slidell, LA., twentytwo grandchildren, Fourty great grandchildren, three great great grandchildren and one sister Mary Shuber of Ocala, Fla. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by one daughter, one granddaughter, two great grandsons and one brother.

A Mass of Christian burial will held at 10:30 am on Wednesday, January 4, 2017 at the Church of The Crucifixion, La Crescent. Rev. Gregory Havel will officiate. Burial will take place in the Holy Cross Cemetery, Dakota, Minn.
