James W. Christopherson, 57, of Holmen, passed away on Thursday, November 24, 2016, at the Gundersen Health System in La Crosse.
He was born in La Crosse on May 15, 1959, to Paul N. and Lois J. (Bryngelson) Christopherson. He attended La Crosse schools and was a 1978 graduate of Logan High School.
Jim was employed by the G. Heileman Brewery for several years and had been employed by Wettstein’s for over ten years before retiring for health reasons.
Jim loved the outdoors and especially enjoyed deer and turkey hunting. He was an avid Packer fan and was also a fan of the Badgers and Brewers. He enjoyed time spent with family and friends at the farm and cabin and loved a good game of euchre whenever he could.
Jim is survived by his loving and devoted companion in life of 26 years, Marion Naegle; her daughter, Stacie (Andy) Sayre and their children, whom Jim thought of as his own grandchildren, Dovian, Noah and Sydney; two sisters, Carol (David) Porath and Lisa (Robert) Richardson; two brothers, Terry (Teresa Tanke) Christopherson and Jason (Sonja) Christopherson; nephew, Luke (Brooke) Christopherson and nephew and Godson, Joel Christopherson; nieces, Melissa (Barry) Hewitt and Amanda (John) Bouteiller; great nieces and nephews, Kaylee, Cooper, Tucker and Chloe; close friends, Whitey, Genzie, Fitz, Neuie and Boston; and his dog, “Fluffy”. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his dog, “Rags”.
A memorial service to celebrate Jim’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, December 3rd, at the Onalaska American Legion, 731 Sand Lake Road in Onalaska, with Rev. Scott Skogen officiating. A reception and gathering time will immediately follow until 1:30 p.m. Memorials may be directed to the Freedom Honor Flight or the American Cancer Society in Jim’s memory.
