Carol D. Kneifl

Carol Diane Kneifl (age 73) of La Crosse, WI lost her battle with Alzheimer’s disease
surrounded by the love of her family on Friday, November 18, 2016. She was born in La Crosse
on April 15, 1943 to Harry and Florence (Grandall) Gilboe.

Carol married Ronald Kneifl on September 28, 1963 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in La
Crosse. They were blessed with five children...Alan (Julieanne) Kneifl, Christine (David)
Jacobs, David Kneifl, Dennis Kneifl, and Lisa (Artell) Stovey.

Carol was a kind, loving mother and grandmother. She was generous with her time and very
thoughtful. She always sent cards to friends and family to recognize birthdays, anniversaries,
and holidays. She was an active member of St. James Catholic Church in La Crosse prior to her
illness. She helped clean the church and assisted with funeral luncheons.

Carol loved being a grandmother. She enjoyed many sleepovers with her eight grandchildren
and three great-grandchildren. She loved baking cookies for them, taking them on bike rides,
going to the park, and finding bargains with them at Shopko.
Carol is survived by her five children; her grandchildren, Yulanda (Merle) Schrock, Joleen
(Leonard) Dipzinski, Miranda Jacobs, Ellynn Kneifl, Laura Kneifl, Rebecca Jacobs, Shelly Kneifl,
and Connor Jacobs; her great-grandchildren, Marty Schrock, LJ and Ethan Dipzinski; and her
sister, Mary Spies.

Carol was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her brothers, Harold and Ellwood
Gilboe; and her sisters, Phyllis Peterson and Lois Campbell.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM on Friday, November 25, 2016 at St. James Catholic Church, 1032 Caledonia St., La Crosse. Msgr. Charles D. Stoetzel will officiate. Burial will follow in the Gate of Heaven Cemetery, La Crosse. Friends may call at the church on Friday from 9 AM until the time of service. The Schumacher – Kish Funeral & Cremation Services, La Crosse Chapel is assisting the family.
