Colleen Mary Collins

Colleen Collins, 89, of La Crescent, Minnesota, passed away on November 16, 2016. Born on December 25, 1926 in Waterloo, Wisconsin, Colleen is preceded in death by her parents, Aloysius and Deborah Moore, her husband Lawrence Collins, her daughter Eileen Beach and three brothers Aloysius, Thomas and James Moore.
Colleen was a homemaker and joined with her husband, Larry, in the ownership and operation of the Ranch Motel in La Crescent, in 1972. She enjoyed reading, gardening, spending time with her family and “Chicken Thursday”.
She is survived by her brother Michael (Carol) Moore; sister Kathleen (Robert) Langen; sons Kevin and Daniel Collins; daughters Mary Schindlbeck, Laura (Tom) Fogli, and Kathleen Collins; sixteen grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She has left a legacy of love and family. Colleen’s wit and sense of humor continually entertained her family and friends; her blessed memory will always be with us.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, November 21, 2016 at 10:30 AM at the Church of the Crucifixion, 423 South Second Street, La Crescent. Rev. Gregory Havel will officiate. Burial will be in the Crucifixion Cemetery. Friends may call at the church on Monday from 9:00 AM until the time of services.
