Morris L. Robinson

July 13, 1924 — October 14, 2016

Morris L Robinson, a long time La Crosse area resident, passed away peacefully Oct 14 at the age of 92 surrounded by his loving family. As a young child during the depression, he started out selling the Saturday Evening Post and other newspapers on street corners in downtown La Crosse. Morris served in both WWII and the Korean War. He was a B24 tail gunner in WW2. During the war, he was stationed in the Aleutian Islands where he flew in 39 combat missions over the Pacific arena. For his heroism, he received the Distinguished Flying Cross and Oak Leaf Cluster as well as many other medals. During the Korean War, Morris was the Line Chief of the Yokota Air Base in Japan. He later became the Standard Oil Company’s Regional Representative overseeing the service stations up and down western Wisconsin. Morris is preceded in death by his wife Ruth, his parents, Lyle and Margaret Robinson and several siblings. He is survived by: his 3 children Gary (Karen) of Tempe, AZ, Anita (Henry) Page of Holmen, WI and Scott (Cindy) of Forest Lake, MN; grandchildren Henry “Chip” Page III, Heidi Stauder, Paul Page, Erin (Jeff) Carr-Jordan, Grant (Elizabeth) Robinson, Benjamin Robinson, Jacob Robinson and Kelsey Robinson; great grandchildren; Andrew Page, Sophie Page, Wendy Page, Alexander Page, Lynzi Stauder, Elysabeth Page, Katherine Page, Alison Carr, Lauren Carr, Jacob Jordan, Logan Jordan; great great-grandchildren; Anderson Page and Isabel Page; his sister, Donna (Jim) Pangier of La Crosse; his brother, Gerald (Arlene) Robinson of Cambridge, MN; sister-in-law, Beverly Robinson of La Crosse and many nieces and nephews. Morris will be remembered as a loving father and grandfather, always wanted the best for his family.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Wednesday, October 19th at the Schumacher-Kish Funeral and Cremation Services, 907 Sand Lake Road, Onalaska with Rev. Eric Feig officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in the Onalaska City Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday from Noon until the time of services.
