Alice E. Samb

Alice E. Samb, 84 of La Crosse and formerly of Holmen, passed away on Saturday, October 1, 2016 at Brookdale Senior Living in La Crosse where she had been a resident for the past year and a half. Alice was born on May 15, 1932 in Black River Falls, WI, to Charles and Hazel (Dell) Posvic. She graduated from Melrose High School in 1950. After graduation she worked at Lutheran Hospital until she married her husband Victor on March 26, 1955 at Mount Calvary Lutheran Church in La Crosse. Alice also worked at LACRO Products for a number of years. They resided in La Crosse until 1984 when they moved to rural Holmen. Alice loved living in the country and feeding her many birds and watching her deer and wildlife. She was also a cat and dog lover having had many pets over the years. Alice is survived by her husband of 61 years Victor, their son David (fiancé Cel Isbell) Samb both of Holmen, one daughter Elaine Almberg of Valley City, ND, three grandsons Erik Almberg of Fargo, ND, Benjamin and Daniel “DJ” Almberg both of Bottineau, ND, and one great grandson Ptayton of Bottineau, ND. She is further survived by one sister Clarice Button of Sparta, WI, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Lyle Posvic and sister Grace Hostrawser.
Funeral services will be held at 11am on Thursday, October 6, 2016 at Bethel Lutheran Church in Galesville, WI. Pastor Jon Cox will officiate. Friends may call on the family at the church Thursday morning from 10am until the time of services. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Bethel Lutheran Church.
