Joyce M. Morrison

Joyce M. Morrison, 86 of La Crosse, died on Saturday, September 24, 2016 at the Hillview Heath Care Center in La Crosse. She was born in Ferryville, Wis, on January 26, 1930 to John and Gertrude (Ogne) Tweed. She married Robert R. Morrison on August 25, 1951 and he preceded her in death on August 18, 2003. Joyce was a teacher for 38 years before retiring to stay home to take care of Bob after his stroke. Joyce gave endless hours of her time giving to others. She will be most remembered for her amazing baked goods. As a charter member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, she had unending involvement in the church. She was an avid Cubs fan now having the best seat in the house. Family and friends are what brought her the most enjoyment in life and she will be deeply missed. Joyce is survived by two sons, John of La Crosse, WI, James of St Louis, MO., one daughter Janette Dawson of La Crosse, WI., and daughter in law Verlene Morrison of Stoddard; six grandchildren, Erin, Megan, Kaitlyn, Andrew, Adam and Austin; 3 great grandchildren; Jake, Xavier and Dora; three sisters, Nancy (Harold) Dale, Marie Tweed and Jane Johnson; sister in law Rosemary Tweed; "adopted" family "Julie-girl" (Phil), Adia and Lila Addis, Kathy Steinke (the Kathy she always wanted); best friends; Linda (Dan) Stremcha and pet companion ” Teddy”.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband Bob, two sons Jeff and Jerome; grandson Robbie, brother Robert Tweed, and sisters Gladys Tweed and June Lindevig.
Funeral services will be held at 11am on Saturday, October 1, 2016 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in La Crosse. Pastor Harald Bringsjord will officiate. Burial will be in the Ferryville Cemetery. Friends may call on the family Saturday morning at the church from 9:30 A.M. until the time of services. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Good Shepherd Lutheran Church.
