Jane Francis Hay

Jane F. Hay, 81 of La Crosse, died on Wednesday, September 7, 2016 at the Brookdale Senior Living facility. She was born in Boston, MA, on April 13, 1935 to Harold S. and Una E. (Loring) Williams. In 1953 she graduated from the Jeremiah E. Burke High School for Girls in Boston. On March 5, 1955 she married Rev. Calvin Hay and he preceded her in death in 2009. Jane took great joy in serving alongside her husband at churches in Newbury, VT, Wessington Springs, SD, Springfield, SD, La Crosse, WI, and Cleveland, OH. The delight of her life was spending as much creative time as possible with her grandchildren. In her retirement, Jane was very active in her church, in several bible studies and was a volunteer at Hillview Nursing Home.
She is survived by her children; Sarah (John) Olson of La Crosse, Paul (Catalina) Hay of Newbury, OH, Arthur (Elizabeth) Hay of Normandy Park, WA, Helene (Steven) Pinti of Eastlake, OH; her grandchildren Trevor (Chelsey), Erik and Timothy Olson, Emma and Isabella Hay, Sydney and Malcolm Hay and Marie (Frederik) Fuest; her sister Helene (Eddy) Carlson of Weymouth, MA, her brothers Roger (Jean) Williams of Derry, NH and Douglas Williams of Boston, MA, and nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband Calvin, she was preceded in death by one grandson Joseph Pinti, two sisters Louise Williams and Anne Hitt and one brother Richard Williams.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Tuesday, September 13, 2016 at St. John’s United Church of Christ; 630 West Ave. So., La Crosse. Pastor John Parkyn and Rev. Patrick Augustine will officiate. Burial will be at a later date in the Oak Grove Cemetery, La Crosse. Friends may call on the family Monday evening from 5-7 pm at the Schumacher-Kish Funeral and Cremation Services La Crosse chapel; 200 West Ave. So. Visitation will also be held at the church on Tuesday morning from 9:30 until the time of services.
