Harry Nunemacher

January 13, 1944 — September 3, 2016

Harold “Harry” M. Nunemacher, 72, of La Crosse, passed away on Saturday, September 3, 2016, at the Bethany-St. Joseph Care Center.
He was born in Hokah, Minn., January 13, 1944, to Melvin and Mary Ann (Thicke) Nunemacher. He married Geraldine “Gerri” Hafner on June 6, 1964, at Crucifixion Catholic Church in La Crescent.
Harry managed the Consolidated Station on Rose Street in La Crosse for many years. He also worked at Nelson Flag & Display, La Crosse Footwear and Viterbo College before retiring. In retirement, he worked part time for the Town of Shelby maintaining parks. Harry’s free time was dedicated to coaching football, basketball and baseball for both boys and girls at St. Pius X School and coaching youth baseball and umpiring for many years for the Town of Shelby Youth Baseball program.
Harry is survived by his wife, Gerri; his children and their families, Mark and his partner, Steve Jensen, of St. Louis Park, Minn., Mike and his wife, Valerie, and their children, Lindsay and Zachary, of Hayden, Idaho, Monti and his wife, Jodee, and their children, Kylie and Brandt, of Dublin, Cal., Michelle and her husband, Jason Miller, and their daughter, Ava, of Coon Valley, Wis. and Matt and his wife, Shobi, and their children, Marah, Makenzie, Devin and Morgan, of Onalaska; his sister, Theresa (Steve) Falk of La Crescent; his brother, Bob (Nancy) Nunemacher of La Crescent and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Roger Nunemacher.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m., Friday, September 9th, at Schumacher-Kish Funeral and Cremation Services, 200 West Ave. So., La Crosse. Rev. Brian Konopa will officiate. Burial will follow at Crucifixion Catholic Cemetery in La Crescent. Family and friends may call from 10:00 a.m. until time of service on Friday at the funeral home.
