Constance A.“Connie”Seehausen, 92 of Onalaska, WI, passed away on Sunday, August 28, 2016. She was born in Rock Creek, WI, on August 18, 1924 to Martin and Cora Anderson. Connie was the oldest of four children. While growing up in Eau Claire, she enjoyed playing violin and singing in the choir. Connie married her high school sweetheart, Jack Dinkel, in 1943. While Jack served in Austria during WWII, Connie worked in an ammunition plant in Eau Claire. Jack was killed in the Korean War in 1951 leaving Connie with their three small children John, Mary Jo and Kathy.
In 1953, Connie married Hardin Romundstad and moved to a dairy farm in Strum, WI. They were blessed with two boys, Michael and Kevin. Farm life gave her the opportunity to have her own garden, make bread and raise her children in a country environment. They left the farm and moved into town in 1965. Hardin died in 1973 and Connie went to work for JC Penneys in Eau Claire where she was proud of making Employee of the Month.
In 1977, Connie married John Seehausen and moved to Red Wing, MN. They eventually became snow birds, living winter months in Alamo, TX and summer months working for the U.S. Corps of Engineers Park in Texoma. When John died in 2004, Connie moved to Eagle Crest and enjoyed the staff and her new circle of friends.
Connie is survived by John (Linda) Dinkel of Lake Nabagamon, WI, Mary Jo (Steve) Cernohous-Sill of Lincoln, Ca, Kathy (Mike) Giese of Onalaska, WI, Michael (Jean) Romundstad of Hudson, WI and Kevin (Pam) of Onalaska, WI, 11 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and her sister Verona Peterson of Cable, WI.
