Janet M. Walling

Janet Marion Walling, 85, of La Crosse, died on Thursday, August 18, 2016 at the Hillview Health Care Center. She was born on September 15, 1930 in La Crosse to Henry and Gertrude (Schild) Muenzenberger. She married Robert Walling on May 22, 1954 at the Cathedral of St. Joseph the Workman. Janet loved being with her family and being outside, whether it was golfing, family reunions, event walks with her twin sister, or just a neighborhood walk by herself. If the weather prevented her walks, she enjoyed playing cards or board games along with baking for her family.
Janet is survived by her husband of 62 years, Robert, daughters, Debbie of La Crosse, Mary (Vern) Affeldt of La Crosse, Carol (Jerry) Holseth of Holmen and son Dave (Tracy) of Eden Prairie, MN, brothers Jerry (Patti) Muenzenberger of Cataract, WI, and Lyle (Edith) Muenzenberger of Salinas, CA, sisters-in-law Sylvia Muenzenberger of West Des Moines, IA, and Giny Buck of Campbellsport, WI, along with many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother Robert, twin sister Janice Bozart, sister-in-law Betty Walling and brother-in-law Ray Buck.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, August 24, 2016 at 10:30 AM at Holy Trinity Catholic Church. Rev. Rick Roberts will officiate. Burial will be in the Woodlawn Cemetery. Friends may call at the church on Wednesday from 9:00 AM until the time of services. In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred and will be used in Janet’s memory. The Schumacher-Kish Funeral and Cremation Services of La Crosse is in charge of arrangements. Her family would like to thank all the caregivers at Hillview Health Care Center for the wonderful care they gave to her. She will be sadly missed by many.
