Harry R. Brown, 82 of Onalaska, Wis., passed away on Friday, August 5, 2016, at Gundersen Health System of La Crosse. He was born in La Crosse on October 25, 1933, to Harold and Mamie (Hulegaard) Brown. He married Sally Carlson on June 25, 1958.
Harry graduated from the University of Minnesota with a degree in Mechanical Engineering in 1956. He worked for 45 years at Honeywell in the aerospace and commercial aviation divisions including many years on the Apollo space project. He was awarded two patents during his career at Honeywell. Harry loved to bike around his home in St. Paul and hike in the mountains near Tucson where he and Sally spent many winters.
He is survived by his wife Sally; daughters Lori (Joseph) Linzmeyer of Onalaska, Wis., and Linda (Robert Conrad) Hill of Plymouth, Mich.; four wonderful grandchildren, Brad Hill (25), Daina Hill (22), Anna Linzmeyer (22) and Kelsey Linzmeyer (18); and brother, Tom Brown of Vancouver, Canada. He was preceded in death by older brother, Richard Brown.
Private family burial will take place on Thursday, August 11th, in Sunset Memorial Park, Minneapolis, Minn. The Schumacher-Kish Funeral and Cremation Services of La Crosse is assisting the family. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society.
