Delores Mae Thompson

Delores M. Thompson, 84 of La Crosse, died on Thursday, August 4, 2016, at her home. She was born in Mauston, WI, on October 4, 1931, to Frederick W. and Meda E. (St. Clair) Pfaff. In 1954 Delores married John Felland and they later divorced. In 1987, she married Howard Thompson and he preceded her in death in 2008.
Delores loved to fish at her summer retreat on Long Lake. She enjoyed gardening, knitting, playing cards, and bird watching. She found joy in her volunteer work and involvement at church. The family would like to thank her special group of friends for the companionship and care they provided over the years.
She is survived by her children; Joan (Eric) Swenson of La Crosse, Brenda (Lynn) Benson of Camp Douglas, WI, Howard (Kay) Thompson of Mondovi, WI, Beverly (Bob) Cousineau of Elroy, WI, David (Nancy) Thompson of Campton Hills, Il, sixteen grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren, one sister Evelyn Cowan of Mauston and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her first and second husbands, she was preceded in death by two brothers Alfred and Arthur Pfaff and one stepson Dana.
Funeral services will be held at 11am on Monday, August 8, 2016, at English Lutheran Church in La Crosse. Pastor Mark Solyst will officiate. Burial will take place in the Brewster Cemetery, New Lisbon, WI. Friends may call on the family Monday morning at the church from 10am until the time of services. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred and will be used in Delores’ memory.
