Alex Christian Nichols

Alex Christian Nichols, age 30, of La Crosse, passed away Saturday, July 16, 2016, at his home. A Celebration of Life will be held from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, July 22, 2016, at Schumacher-Kish Funeral Home in La Crosse with a few family and friends speaking at 6 p.m.
Alex Nichols was born April 19, 1986, in La Crosse, the son of Mark Nichols and Beth Temte. He was raised and attended school in La Crosse. Alex lived in both Apache Junction, AZ and Detroit Lakes, MN before relocating back in La Crosse. Alex worked as a flooring technician and moonlighted in the food and beverage industry.
Alex was passionate about skateboarding from a very young age and it was a love he shared with his older brother Sean (Seal), hence the name Seal Boy. They shared many hours and bruises at the skate park. Alex would light up a room simply by walking into it and he was never shy about introducing himself to strangers and when he asked you, “how are you?” he was genuine in his concern. Alex never shied from a challenge, was always quick to stand up for family and friends. He was kind, loyal, protective and you could always count on Alex telling you the truth, whether you wanted to hear it or not. Alex loved spending time on the river, grilling and spending time with family and friends and he shared a love of live music with his dad. You’d often see them out together.
Alex Nichols is survived by his parents: Mark Nichols of La Crosse, Beth Temte of Detroit Lakes, MN; two sisters: Ashley (Jason) Johnson of Detroit Lakes, MN, Kaia Nichols of Detroit Lakes, MN; grandparents: William and Louise Temte of Onalaska; aunts: Rachel (Waren) Hanssen of Onalaska, Mary Lee Nichols of Atlanta, GA, Anne Marie Nichols of La Crosse; uncle: Andrew (Linda) Temte of Onalaska; and many cousins, nephews, nieces, great-aunts, great-uncles
