Madeline E. Muenzenberger, 92, peacefully went to be with the Lord on Monday, July 4, 2016. She was born in Norphlet, Arkansas to Stacy and Ettie (Harper) Anderson. Her family moved near Pleasant Hill, Louisiana where she grew up and then later moved to Shreveport, Louisiana.
She was united in marriage to Albert J. Muenzenberger on December 24, 1945 in Shreveport, Louisiana. The couple made their home in LaCrosse, Wisconsin and were blessed with four children. Madeline and Albert shared fifty-five years of marriage together remaining devoted to each other and their family. Albert preceded her in death on July 30, 1999.
Madeline was a homemaker first but did work part time at a few jobs over the years at a restaurant or as a home health aide. She was a devoted wife and mother and cherished her family. She enjoyed being a mother, grandmother and great grandmother, always a source of encouragement and love. She enjoyed quilting, reading, puzzles, games, gardening and travel.
Madeline was a long time member of Bethany Evangelical Free Church and loved attending the praise and worship services and Sunday School class. She enjoyed her many friends and activities there and was a member of White Cross. She loved God and had a heart for missions and outreach of the gospel.
Madeline's generous, loving spirit and joy will forever remain in the hearts and lives of those who knew her.
In addition to her husband Albert, Madeline was preceded in death by a daughter Linda Kirchner, her parents, siblings Alma Hart, Bennice Anderson, Clara Allen, Raymond Anderson, Walter Anderson, Julia Veuleman and Joyce Tieman.
She is survived by her children, Alvin (Irene) Muenzenberger, Alan Muenzenberger and Bonnie Korger all of La Crosse, grandchildren, Keith Kirchner, Lynnette Muenzenberger, Brent Kirchner, Douglas Muenzenberger, Jeremy Korger all of LaCrosse and Amber Korger of Fort Dodge, IA, and great grandchild Felix Muenzenberger; siblings, Blanche Behan of Mansfield, LA, Jewell Ward of Coushatta, LA, Helen Roberts of Livingston, TX, David (Margaret) Anderson of Shreveport, LA, and Arlene (Charles) Smith of Converse, LA along with a number of nieces, nephews and extended family.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, July 8, 2016 at Bethany Evangelical Free Church, 3936 County Road B, La Crosse. Pastor Corey Sateren will officiate. Entombment will follow in the Garden of Peace Mausoleum, Mormon Coulee Memorial Park. Friends may call at the Schumacher – Kish Funeral & Cremation Services, 200 West Ave. S., La Crosse on Thursday from 5-7 PM and again at the church on Friday from 10 AM until the time of service.
In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to the organization of the donor’s choice.
