Sally E. (Pearson) Kulmaczewski, 76 of Onalaska, WI, passed away on Friday, July 1, 2016 at Gundersen Health System of La Crosse. She was born in La Crosse, WI, on April 21, 1940 to Pearl and Esther (Lamb) Pearson. Sally graduated from Holmen High School in 1958. She married Leo Kulmaczewski at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Onalaska on August 18, 1962. For over 30 years Sally worked serving others; first as a school cook in the Onalaska School District, later working with children at Discovery Daycare and finally working with special needs adults at ABC Works in La Crescent, MN. She retired in 2010. During her retirement, Sally continued to help and serve others in multiple ways – through teaching knitting classes at community centers, being involved in numerous activities with St. Patrick’s Parish, offering continued advice and counsel to her adult children, and cultivating special relationships with her grandchildren.
In addition to her husband Leo Kulmaczewski Sr., she is survived by her children: Annette (Kevin) Wall of Wauwatosa, WI; Leo (Emily) Kulmaczewski Jr., Village Of Lakewood, IL; Esther (Scott) Widor of St. Cloud, MN; and Joseph (Mary) Kulmaczewski of Holmen, WI. She is also survived by two brothers Wilmer Pearson and Michael Pearson, 12 grandchildren; Megan, Keaton, Taylor, Marissa, Spencer, Drake, Cooper, Maverick, Josiah, Talia, Nadia, and Lucy. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, one son John, and one grandson Levi. Additionally, she would like to recognize her special friends, including Joan, Trudy, Carmen, and the girls from the Holmen Class of 1958.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 7pm on Friday, July 8, 2016 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church. Monsignor Steven Kachel will officiate. Burial will take place in the Onalaska City Cemetery. Friends may call on the family Friday evening at the church from 5 until 7pm. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Father Rossiter Endowment Fund at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church.
