Nancy J. Servais

Nancy J. Servais, 73 of La Crosse died on Sunday, June 26, 2016 at the Gundersen Health System following a brief hospitalization. She was born May 7, 1943 in La Crosse to Edward and Virginia (Holberg) Meinertz and graduated from Aquinas High School in 1961. On May 11, 1963 she married Dennis Servais at St. Thomas More Catholic Church in La Crosse.
Nancy was a stay at home mom when her three children were small and also helped her husband with the family business. After her children were grown, she became a hostess for McDonald’s where she always had a smile on her face. Nancy loved many things, including cooking and baking, especially chocolate chip cookies with her grandkids. She also enjoyed shopping and going out to lunch with her friends, flowers and sharing her joy with many.
In addition to her husband Dennis, she is survived by three children; Christine (Chuck) Kammel of La Crosse, Dr. Amy (Chris Hiltgen) Servais of Appleton and Troy Servais of Lewiston, MN; 7 grandchildren, Cortney, Cole and Cain Kammel; Carsten, Shelby and Greta Hiltgen , Trenton Servais and his mom Dawn Servais; two sisters, Rita Clements of Kentucky and Patricia Hanzlik of Iowa; three brothers, Robert (Ruth) Meinertz of La Crosse, Bernard (Vicki) Meinertz of Onalaska and John Meinertz of Stoddard; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins including Delores Hake, and a very special friend Dort Fuchsteiner. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers-in-law, Archie Clements and Ken Hanzlik.
Nancy’s family would like to express their thanks to her primary care physician, Dr. Lucas Hammel for his compassionate care, Dr. David Momont, Dr. Andrew Saterbak and the nursing staff including Trevor and Laura for all their care.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, July 2nd at the Schumacher-Kish Funeral and Cremation Services, 200 West Avenue South, La Crosse with Rev. Peter Raj officiating. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Saturday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of services.
