Daniel Joseph Ruesgen

Daniel “Dan” Joseph Ruesgen, 66, of Caledonia peacefully passed June 26th, 2016 with his family by his side. Dan was born on October 15, 1949 to Joseph and Margie (Hanson) Ruesgen in La Crosse, WI. Dan was a graduate of Logan High and Winona State University. Dan’s interests were diverse from riding Harley’s to collecting stamps. Dan had a love for the Word of God. As a Christian man through the years he found his passion in serving others through his work as a Drug and Alcohol Counselor. While he was exceptional as a counselor, he was an even better husband, father and grandfather. He touched and influenced the lives of many throughout his journey. Dan cherished his family and friends. The joys of his life were his children and grandchildren.
He is survived by the love of his life, his wife, Wendi (Tovsen) and his children Shawn (Deb), Amy (Ryan) Geiwitz, Sarah King Hill, Jacob (Karry), Kelly (Brian) Norsten, Leah (Zach) Webber, Dustin Schultz, Dylan (Nicole), Caleb, and Elijah. His grandchildren Brandon, Emma, Ayden, Jacob Jr., Carter, Isaiah, Heidi, Alexa, Dawson, Payton, Emmett, and Tucker. His sister, Margie “Tyke” Spangler (Jody Low), and one brother. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, David.
Memorial service will be held on Friday, July 1st at 2:00pm at Connect Church, 3340 So. Kinney Coulee Rd Onalaska, WI 54650. The visitation will be held from 1:00 to 2:00pm. A celebration of life will take place on September 10, 2016 at Goose Island Park. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be sent to your church or charity of choice in his honor.
