Richard (Dick) J Meyer

Richard (Dick) James Meyer, 85, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 9th, 2016, at his home surrounded by family.
He was born on October 13, 1930, to Joseph and Sophie (Shimon) Meyer in Eau Claire, WI. He graduated from St. Pat’s (Regis) High School in 1949.
Dick served in the Navy from 1949 – 1953. He married Nancy Ermatinger on April 16, 1955, and settled in La Crosse where he spent his 37 year career as a draftsman with Trane Co.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy, sons Tim (Jill) Coon Rapids, MN, Dave (DiAnn) Columbia Heights, MN, and Paul (Ruth) Madison, WI; daughters Betsy (Dave) Meyer of Conroe, TX, Mary Sue (Pete) Legeza of Madison, IN, and Ellie (Tom) McDonald of Sobieski, WI; 18 grandchildren, and 3 great grandchildren. Dick is also survived by brothers Hank Seattle, WA, Denny, Jerry, and Joe Eau Claire, WI and sister Theresa Oberle of Eau Claire, WI.
Dick is preceded in death by his mother and father, brothers Rollie and Jim and sisters Bea, Margie, Joan, and Kathy.
A funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, June 14th, 2016, at 11:30 A.M. at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church with Rev. Peter Raj officiating. Visitation will begin at 9:30 A.M. until time of service. Entombment with military honors will follow in Catholic Cemetery.
