Ardis M. Lamprech, 76 of Onalaska, died unexpectedly Friday, May 27, 2016, at the Gundersen Health System. She was born October 20, 1939, in Genoa, Wisconsin, to Martin and Vera (Ross) DeGarmo.
On August 11, 1962, she married Douglas Lamprech in Stoddard, WI and he preceded her in death on February 21, 2004. Ardis had worked as a Job Specialist for the Wisconsin State Job Service for 35 years until her retirement in 1996. She enjoyed reading books, working crossword puzzles, and spending many happy hours on her deck watching the birds. Her greatest enjoyment, however, was spending time with her grandkids. Ardis had volunteered for many years at the American Cancer Society in Onalaska and the Coulee Region Humane Society.
Ardis is survived by a daughter; Chris (Craig) McKinzie of Onalaska; two sons, Brian (Terri) Lamprech of Sun Prairie, WI and Bruce (Connie) Lamprech of Onalaska; five grandchildren; Steven McKinzie, Kathryn Lamprech and Daniel, Jennifer and Abigail Lamprech; her father-in-law, Jim Knobloch of Onalaska; two brothers, Ronald (Betty) DeGarmo of Viroqua and Marlin (Cindy) DeGarmo of Holmen, a sister-in-law, Linda (Jim) Troyanek of Nekoosa,Wi, along with many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband Douglas, she was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters; Phyllis Starks and Elaine Justin.
A memorial gathering for family and friends will be held on Wednesday, June 1st from 4-6 PM at the Schumacher-Kish Funeral and Cremation Services, 907 Sand Lake Road, Onalaska. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the charity of the donor’s choice.
