Phyllis Marie Morrison

Phyllis Marie (Halla) Morrison, 83, of Onalaska, was surrounded by her family and went to be with the Lord on May 22, 2016.

Phyllis was born on July 12, 1932 to John and Theresa (Schmidt) Halla. She was the eldest of six children. After graduating from Aquinas High School in 1950, she went on to attend St. Francis School of Nursing, RN Program in1953. Phyllis began her career at St. Francis Hospital in 1954 and retired from Bethany Riverside Nursing Facility in 1995. She married Howard Morrison on July 24, 1954. Phyllis is survived by her seven children;
Daniel Morrison, Diane (Doug) Guertin, Susan (David) Hendrix, Debra (Jeffory) Kelner, Ellen (Kevin) Beardsley, Sharon (Jeffrey) Young and Maureen Morrison and blessed with many grand, great and great-great grandchildren. She is further survived by a sister Patricia Malay, brothers; Donald (Marie) Halla, Eugene Halla and James Morrison along with many nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.
Phyllis was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and caregiver. She also adored her loving
companions Toby, Ginger and Angel.

Preceded in death by her husband Howard, parents, grandparents , sisters; Donna Rhodes and Nancy Spagl, brother-in-laws; Gary Rhodes, James Spagl, James Malay and sister-in-law Arlene Morrison.

Phyllis was very grateful for her many friendships throughout her life, including the DAV Auxiliary and the fellowship group at First Free.

The family would like to thank the many healthcare providers from Gundersen Health System,
Mayo Clinic Health System and the Onalaska Care Center for providing Phyllis with exceptional
care.

A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, May 27 at 10:30 a.m. at the Schumacher-Kish Funeral and Cremation Service of Onalaska (907 Sand Lake Road). Entombment will follow the service in the Catholic Cemetery, La Crosse. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 5-7 p.m. and on Friday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service.
