Martha Ann Hermanson

Martha Ann Hermanson, 100 of La Crosse passed away Friday, May 6, 2016 in Burlington, WI. She was born September 7, 1915 on St. Mary’s Ridge, WI to William and Sophia (Haun) Schmitz. On May 5, 1934 she married George Kateley in La Crosse and he preceded her in death in 1962. In 1974 she married Jim Hermanson in La Crosse and he preceded her in death in 1998.
Martha had worked at Lutheran Hospital, Northern Engraving and many other places throughout the years.
Survivors include three daughters; Rita (Charles) Halvorson of Reno, NV, Donna (Ernest) Schultz of Fort Atkinson, WI and Carol Kirkeby of Burlington, WI; 13 grandchildren; many great, great-great and great-great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death by three brothers; a sister; a son-in-law, Karl Kirkeby; and two grandchildren, Cheryl (Kirkeby) Borgen and Debbie Halvorson.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, May 21st at Mary, Mother of the Church Parish, 2003 Weston Street, La Crosse with Rev. Brian D. Konopa officiating. Burial will be held in Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church on Saturday from 10:00 AM until the time of services.
