Joan Barbara Stach

Joan Barbara Stach, 90, of La Crosse, passed away on May 5, 2016, at the Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center.
She was born in Bangor, Wis., on August 12, 1925, to Walter and Mabel (Hundt) Cavadini. On July 3, 1946, Joan married Kenneth Stach. Together, they had 6 children.
Joan worked most of her life and most recently at Schmidty’s Restaurant for 25 years. One of her biggest joys was playing BINGO along with her BINGO buddy, Patty Hanson; so much so, that her grandchildren called her BINGO Grandma. She was an outstanding cook and made holidays special. There are so many other things we could say about her, but most importantly, she was a caring and loving person and the joy she found in life was apparent in everything she did.
Joan is survived by her children, Steve (Jackie), Randy, Carol (Bob) Kasparek, Michael (Rhonda), and Richard; nine grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She is further survived by her sister Dorothy Lebakken; brother, Wayne (Kris) Cavadini; and sisters-in-law, Betty Cavadini and Rosie Cavadini. She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Mabel Cavadini; her husband, Kenneth Stach; her daughter, Karen; infant son, John Paul; and grandson, John Kasparek. Six of her brothers and sisters, many good friends and one very special friend, Mary Krause, also preceded Joan in death.
The family would like to give a special thank you to Dorothy Lebakken and Rosie Cavadini for their loving care.
Her love knew no boundaries and filled many hearts. She will be dearly missed by all of us. Happy Mother’s Day, Mom!
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, May 12th, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 1333 So. 13th St., La Crosse. Rev. Rick Roberts will officiate. Friends may call on the family on Thursday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of Mass at the church.
