Wilbert Ray Sagler, 74 was born on October 26, 1941 in Viroqua, WI. He was born to William and Ruth (DeLano) Sagler. He spent his youth living on a farm in Romance Valley.
He attended De Soto High School where he graduated in the spring of 1953. After graduation he worked for various neighbors doing farm work. He met his future wife, Kathleen, in 1958 and after an extended courtship was married in 1975 in La Crosse. They lived in Madison where Wilbert worked as a janitor for Rennebohm Drugs. After a few years they moved back to the De Soto area where he became a janitor for the De Soto School District.
Wilbert is survived by his wife Kathleen, two sons; Charles and Thomas (Jaime); two grandsons, Ethan and Thomas; a brother, Marvin (Merle) and their family, Carl (Kathleen) and their family and sister Vera Winchell and her family, he was preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law. A memorial service will be held on April 23rd at Bethany Riverside, 2575 S. 7th St. at 1:00 p.m. where he was a resident for four years. Family and friends may call from noon until the time of service. Rev. Lisa Shank will officiate and burial will follow the service in Woodlawn Cemetery, La Crosse.
