Floyd W. Kuecker, 90, of La Crosse, passed away on Wednesday, April 6, 2016, at the Bethany-Riverside Nursing Facility.
Floyd was born on December 10, 1925, in Caledonia, Minn., to August and Louise (Horn) Kuecker. His early years were spent helping his parents on the farm in rural Caledonia.
Floyd worked at the Trane Company in La Crosse for 36 years. The first sixteen years were in manufacturing and the last twenty years were in the development laboratory before taking retirement in 1987.
Floyd married Carol Schauble on March 12, 1949, at St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Caledonia and they built their home in La Crosse. In his free time, Floyd built mini bikes (Mite Industries) and commercial chicken house cleaners and his lifelong hobby was fixing lawn mowers and snow blowers. Floyd also enjoyed traveling with Carol, visiting all fifty states, including Hawaii and Alaska, plus traveling overseas many times.
Floyd is survived by Carol, his loving wife of 67 years; two daughters, Cynthia (Bill) Sweet of Holmen and Karen (Randy) Felch of La Crosse; three grandchildren, Christine (Jeff) Howard of Holmen and Ryan and Hannah Felch of La Crosse; five great-grandchildren, Mathew (Emily), Jonathan and Alex Price, and Zachary and Seth Howard; one sister, Floreen Sanden of Houston, Minn.; two sisters-in-law, Marcile Kuecker of Caledonia and Jackie Kuecker of La Crosse; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Floyd was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Flossie Dotseth and Delilah Minogue; two brothers, Mervin and Duane Kuecker; and three brothers-in-law, Gladen Sanden, Oscar Dotseth, and William Minogue.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, April 9th, at Immanuel Ev. Lutheran Church in La Crosse. Pastor David Leistekow will officiate. Burial will take place in Mormon Coulee Memorial Park. Family and friends may call from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service on Saturday at the church.
